A Washington State favorite since 1974.

Founded by Lydia Venichenko Barrett in the 1970's, the Kaleenka has been Seattle's original piroshky for nearly fifty years. Having operated on 1st Ave downtown Seattle for years, thousands of people have had the pleasure of sampling our traditional Russian dishes. Since the Lydia’s retirement in 2002, the Kaleenka restaurant location has closed and the mobile stand was taken over by Lydia’s youngest son, Steven. In 2021, the business was passed on again to the third generation to Steven’s son, Brayton.

Although nearing its 50th year, the quality and values of the original Kaleenka are still upheld every day. We have had the pleasure of serving Lydia’s original recipes for decades, and look forward to doing so for years to come.

Thank you for being part of our restaurant’s legacy.
